  • Overview

    Performs a wide variety of cleaning, transport and serving functions to ensure the efficient operation of the Food Service Department. Detects and corrects situations before a complaint is received.

    Attention to Detail

    • Good attention to detail.
    • Cleans dishes, equipment and surfaces according to department procedures and schedules.
    • Assigned work may include cleaning fixtures and equipment such as ovens, stoves, fryers, steam kettles, hoods, refrigerators, grease traps, carts, counters, floors, carpets, pots, pans, and catering equipment.

    Workstation Efficiency

    • Works efficiently.
    • Sets up assigned workstation with all necessary supplies.
    • Transports supplies to various areas of department and community in a timely manner, including dinning rooms and tray service.
    • Performs routine sweeping and trash removal with quality results.

    Cleaning Procedures

    • Understands and follows established department cleaning procedures.
    • Double checks that trays, utensils, and all service ware are clean prior to placing in service.
    • Follows directions and policies for proper sanitation of dishes and pots.

    Machine Safety

    • Operates all equipment in a safe and proper manner, such as dish machine temperature, and if not in compliance with standards notifies Supervisor.



    General Requirements

    • Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services prior to presence in the community.
    • Working knowledge of Title 22.
    • Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months.
    • Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully work in a multi-cultural environment.

    Position Requirements

    • At least 18 years of age.
    • Current First Aid Training and Certifications as per Title 22.
    • Working knowledge of computers and typing, sufficient enough to be successful with computerized Point of Care and other systems.
    • 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
